Laptop For Videogame Design in college?

I am going to DePaul University to study Videogame Design. I have the choice of buying a high end computer such as an alien-ware and use it thought the 4 years of college. On the other hand I can buy a mid ranged laptop and buy another one in 2 years. What would you recommend? Remember, I am doing video-game design.
