Is Pau Gasol the best power forward in Lakers history?
don't think that is a stretch at all to say. Since he has joined the Lakers, he has been basically good for 19 points, 9 rebounds, 3 ists, and 1.5 blocks. I don't think any of the Laker championship teams have had a guy as skilled and multi-faceted as Pau Gasol. Plus he has won championships both in the NBA and for his homeland of Spain. When the Lakers won in 72, they had Happy Hairston, who was very good, especially on the boards, judging by his averages. During the 80s the Lakers had very serviceable guys at that position like AC Green, Mitch Kupchak, Kurt Rambis, Mark Landsberger, and a great 6th man in Bob MacAdoo. During the 3-peat in the 2000s, the Lakers had Horace Grant and AC Green, both of whom were well past their primes, basically a small forward in Robert Horry, an inconsistent Samaki Walker, a scrappy hustler in Mad Dog Madsen, and Slava Medvedenko, who never played much D.
